Why (medical) physics?

Physics is a natural science that is developing rapidly and you can gain fascinating insights into current research at our department. In addition to fundamental research, physics is also application-oriented and many of the technological developments in our everyday lives would be unthinkable without the fundamentals of physics.

Are you eager to learn and want to understand the laws of nature? Do you enjoy solving complex problems? Then studying physics is the right choice for you!

(Medical) physicists are absolute all-rounders with excellent career prospects and a wide range of career opportunities.

Physics or medical physics?

Our study programs

We offer the following degree programs:

Bachelor: (B.Sc.)
Physics
Medical Physics

Master (M.Sc.)
Physics
Medical Physics
International Master of Advanced Methods in Particle Physics (IMAPP)

All our degree programs are admission-free . However, a mathematical self-test is required for enrolment in the Bachelor's degree courses.

We also offer Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in the field of teacher training for the following school types: Gymnasium/Gesamtschule (admission restricted for educational sciences) or Berufskolleg.

Enrolment for all degree programs takes place in the winter semester. For the Master's degree programs in Physics and Medical Physics, enrolment is also possible in the summer semester.
